The 2018 LGBTIQ Women’s Health Conference was held in Melbourne on 12 & 13 July. Over 400 people attended from all over Australia. Keynote speakers and panellists included
The program included presentations, panels, workshops and keynote speakers. The conference was opened by the Minister for Health, Jill Hennessey, with a Welcome to Country by Wurundjeri Elder, Annette Xiberras.
2018’s theme ‘Research, Resilience, Respect’ aimed at exploring existing research and highlighting the need for further research into LGBTIQ women’s health, while acknowledging the remarkable resilience of women’s communities.
The conference coincided with NAIDOC Week – their theme being “Because of her, we can!” – and included important conversations with Aboriginal LGBTIQ women’s communities from all around Australia.
